Begun as a response to the sky-rocketing youth homicide rates in the early 1990's, Peace Games challenges the prevailing framework that young people are problems and not problem-solvers.
Our Mission
Peace Games empowers students to create their own safe classrooms and communities by forming partnerships with elementary schools, families, youth volunteers, and community partners.
Our Goals
* To empower children with the knowledge, skills, relationships, and opportunities to be peacemakers.
* To engage all community members to support children as peacemakers.
* To inspire a new generation of educators and activists.
* To change the way society thinks about violence and young people.
Our Network
Since our inception in 1992 as a student-run organization at Harvard University, Peace Games has reached more than 20,000 students. Currently, Peace Games works with 8,000 students through school partnerships in Boston, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. The Peace Games Network is made up of educators and allies at current and past Peace Games schools, committed to supporting the work of peacemaking through professional development and public awareness.
